Mule ESB

Mule is an enterprise service bus (ESB) developed in Java by MuleSoft. It is one of the most popular and most widely used tools of this type.

Scalability contributed to its success, allowing for easy expansion of existing solutions with new functionalities, as well as for connecting new applications, services and components.

The components involved can be of any type and messages sent between them in any format, due to the fact that Mule provides a complete communication system including:

• Routing – routing, aggregation, retrieval and filtering of messages,
• Websites – making connected components and applications available as easily accessible reusable services,
• Mediation – separation of business logic from transport logic, additionally enabling the use of the same transport logic for many types of messages,
• Transformation – data exchange using any protocols and in any format,
• Security – protection of data and services exposed to external networks.
