SAP Business Connector is an application server based on the B2B Intergration Server technology by webMethods. It enables communication between SAP and non-SAP systems as well as integration with external internet applications supporting purchases, sales and, among others, production planning. Thanks to DSP technology, SAP Business Connector can be used to build web applications as an independent application server.
SAP Business Connector enables two-way synchronous and asynchronous real-time communication with other, incompatible with SAP systems, as well as with Internet applications. Data exchange takes place via the Internet, Intranet and any WAN or local networks available, in HTML or XML format.
The SAP Business Connector platform is also an overlay for the SAP system, thus enabling the use of technologies such as BAPI or IDOC. Thanks to SAP, it is possible to use RFC protocols that allow any functions in the system to be called remotely from outside. Due to this, it is possible to quickly and relatively easily build websites that exchange data between business partners and create websites supporting, among others, sale.
